History
The EDF Group of the ESPS (EDFG) is one of the groups within the wider Electricity Supply Pension Scheme (ESPS). You can find out more about the ESPS in general on their website https://www.espspensions.co.uk.
At the end of 2021, the three legacy Defined Benefit schemes sponsored by EDF in the UK (BEGG, EEPS & EEGS) were consolidated into BEGG and renamed EDFG (or 'the Group'). The Principal Employer of EDFG is EDF Energy Nuclear Generation Limited (the Company).
The Group has separate sections of membership and it’s important you refer to the appropriate guide for your section. The Member Guides are available on My Work Pension. You can find out more about this in ‘What Section am I in? also available on My Work Pension.
There is a history of the various pension schemes that EDF employees have participated in and who EDF have supported in the UK in the past, since privatisation of the electricity industry in 1990. You can find a summary in the document library. Importantly, it tracks through how the majority of members came ultimately to join EDFG.
